A Spruced Up Silver Spur Elementary School. Workday 2011
Last Saturday, as part of the hundreds of service projects completed through our Annual Workday, Silver Spur Elementary School (Ranchos Palos Verdes, CA) was spruced up with a number of beautification projects. With King’s Harbor Church providing leadership and volunteer help, three murals were painted and the school’s garden was cleaned up and replanted. In light of the drastic cuts to the budget, which have impacted schools all across the state, the volunteer efforts made by students and their families, staff and the surrounding community have been an important asset to Silver Spur Elementary School.
This year the Workday was able to expand its horizons by adding more sites and completing hundreds of thousands of dollars more worth of projects. Without the support and commitment of our partners, all of the work that was done would not have been possible. We look forward to even bigger endeavors in realizing our vision of leaving a positive imprint and building communities of care.
