change happened! workday 2011 harbor city cleanup
The reports are still coming in. Our 8th Annual Workday on May 14th brought about visible, tangible change in our communities. One noteworthy project was the Harbor City cleanup whereby over 150 volunteers dispersed throughout the city to bring renewal to the litter-filled landscape. This year, the cleanup project focused on Harbor Recreational Park, Harbor Regional Park and Narbonne High School.
Take a moment to watch an interview with Joeann Valle (Executive Director of the Harbor City/Harbor Gateway Chamber of Commerce), Jeri (Harbor Recreational Park), and Ellen (Harbor Regional Park), who describe how the community rallied together to pull off this much-needed project.
We are thankful especially to the Harbor City-Lomita Lions Club and New Life Center for adopting the project.
If you did not get a chance to see the difference the Workday made throughout Los Angeles County, take a moment to watch our slideshow.
